Panama City.– Panamanian Foreign Minister Samuel Lewis expressed his country"s sincere and active commitment to the Association of Caribbean States on Friday, upon inaugurating its 13th Council of Ministers.
The meeting is attended by nine ministers of the 28 ACS member countries, as well as deputy ministers and other top officials.
Lewis highlighted the strategic importance of getting together and creating the regional capacities within the ACS is evident.
The Panamanian official stressed that in times of globalization, cultural richness, ethnical plurality, natural biodiversity, and creative human resources influence on competitiveness among countries.
He recalled that Panama hosted the fourth Summit of ACS Chiefs of State, and is destined to be the merging point and bridge linking the Caribbean diversity.
