San Juan.– Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton, newly defiant against her own party leaders, sought a victory Sunday in Puerto Rico's presidential primary that would give her a toehold on an increasingly slippery path to the nomination.

The island territory, once a political asterisk in presidential contests, stood as Clinton's last best electoral chance. She, former President Clinton and their daughter Chelsea have spent a combined 15 days in the commonwealth hoping to keep her relevant in the contest.

Sunday's vote follows the decision Saturday by a panel of the Democratic National Committee to give each Michigan and Florida delegate a half vote at this summer's convention. It was a compromise that did no harm to Obama's near claim to the nomination but infuriated the Clinton camp and prompted new threats to carry the fight to the August convention.

"This decision violates the bedrock principles of our democracy and our party," the Clinton campaign said in a joint statement from Harold Ickes and Tina Flournoy, two of her advisers.

The deal by the party's Rules Committee placed Obama 66 delegates short of the total he needs to clinch the nomination. The election Sunday and two final primaries Tuesday will close that gap, and Obama could attract enough superdelegates to secure the nomination this week.

Clinton campaigned hard in Puerto Rico, spending several hours Saturday on the back of a pickup truck in a salsa-blasting, 40-vehicle caravan through the outskirts of San Juan. In a sign that her supporters were unwilling to give up, an outside group financed by her labor backers bought $150,000 worth of television ads on the island promoting her views.

The group, the American Leadership Project, was also spending $300,000 on ads in Tuesday's primary states of Montana and South Dakota, states where Obama is deemed the favorite. Clinton planned to campaign in South Dakota Monday.

Saturday's party meeting did strengthen one of Clinton's key arguments for staying in the fight. In seating the Michigan and Florida delegates, party leaders tacitly acknowledged her popular vote dominance in those states.

By including the Michigan and Florida results, Clinton can claim to have won the most popular votes since the primaries and caucuses began in January. Both states were punished by the DNC for moving up their contests in violation of party rules and the party had refused to recognize the votes. The candidates did not campaign in either state and Obama withdrew his name from the Michigan ballot.

....And the oldest serving member of Congress, former Klan member Senator Robert Byrd, has endorsed Barack Obama for president. That’s got to make Hillary feel good, huh? Even the Klan guy is saying, “I’m gonna go with the black guy.”

I hate to say I told you so but if they give Obama the Democratic nomination, McCain is sure to win the presidency. Obama may do well amongst the African-American populace who's only reason to vote for him as a candidate is the mere fact that he's black and not so much his qualifications and amongst low income whites. He's not even your typical African-American since his ancestry did not derive from slavery. So much for saying he's one of us. This is just like the OJ Simpson case where every black person in America saw OJ as a victim of white supremacy and pronounced him innocent before his verdict. Of course OJ's done nothing for the black community in America but they don't seem to care. Obama is one-term US senator who was at the right place at the right time when he was elected to the senate. He never even voted on real issues affecting Americans and now these fools think he can run the country? This will certainly guarantee another 4 more years of Bush-style politics.

Latint hunk say's Obama's Black supporter vote for him only because he's black and gets support from low income whites. I will try to correct these errors in judgement. First, many African-Americans such as myself withheld support until we heard his plans for change in America. The U.S. is headed for rapid decline in all areas politicaly, militarily economicaly and socialy. he are looking at a centuries decline in the time span of a generation (20 years). There are some black people who will no doubt vote for Barak Obama because they fell proud to have someone who is more than less, like them. Hunk's second point is completely wrong. Obama does worst among low income, poorly educated whites who tend to vote out of fear, fear of the commies, fear of Japanese industry, fear of terrorisim, fear of Illeagal immigrants and yes, fear of the blacks. He does quite well among educated whites who can see beyond short term issues. This has led him to be labled an "elitist". Wow! a black elitist

I don't require YOU to correct my judgement. There's nothing wrong with it. Obama has yet to define how he's going to bring about this so called "CHANGE". Unfortunately, in politics and in Washington, unless you have a one-party totalitarium system, you have to play the game. Experience - he totally lacks. His connection to the racist Rev. Wright for 20 some odd years leaves a lot "open to question". Las time I checked we are at war and the last person you want running this country is an inexperienced politician like himself. You are entitled to your own WRONG opinion nonetheless. Tell me something out of curiousity since you didn't even touch upon the subject, are you one of those African-Americans who still thinks OJ is "innocent"? And give me an example of what has he done for your community lately?

First of all, I believe O.J. WAS guilty, he just beat the system, a first for the black folk. Some people hate him for that, not the murders. Some people see O.J. as a hero (sad as that is) . You hit on all the red herring Fox News Network points that don't amount to squat as to why Obama should not be elected president. As for the war, which one Iraq or Afghanistan? one is a true fight against terrorisim the other an illegal foreign intervention, both are being badly mismanaged by people with "experience". The word "change" Does not simply mean new policies foreign and domestic, though both are needed in America, it means a diffrent approach to politics, not being held captive to special intrest groups (just one example). Americans need to be reminded they are not sheep, they do not have to accept buisness as usual, because business as usual ain't working in the brave new world. Then of course, you have people who would not vote for one of "those" people if he were the only one running.

OBAMA-CLINTON

On June 3, Obama clinched the Democratic nomination and Clinton angled for a spot on the ticket.

How did this happen.

Iowa on Jan.3 showed what Obama was about an attractive candidate, magnificently organized, who follows sound strategy and tactics. Iowa also exposed Clinton as also an attractive candidate, but poorly organized, and followed a flawed strategy and tactics.

Obama rode the flow of his campaign in NH on Jan. 8 with a double-digit lead in the polls. On Jan. 7, the eve of the NH primary, Clinton wept on TV and powerfully moved the women sector of the electorate which rushed to her defense as her campaign promised to fall apart, thus, explaining her tears. She whipped Obama by a double-digit margin, shocking the world with a less than 24-hour turnaround.

Coming out of NH, Clinton's stupid strategy and corresponding tactics were something like: rely on her big name and media presence to wipe Obama out on SuperTuesday, Feb. 4.

OBAMA-CLINTON
p. 2

Obama organized and raised money by small internet contributions.

He and Clinton split Super Tuesday because the many women didn't see Clinton's campaign as endangered as they did in NH. The Feb. 4 result exposed the stupidity of Clinton early knockout strategy. The day after Super Tuesday, Feb. 5, Obama's campaign leaked the celebrated memo, predicting that neither he nor Clinton will have enough delegates to win the nomination before the convention, thus, suggesting as delegate as well as a primary fight.

With Clinton campaign now in disarray following a number of changes in top personnel, Obama picked off 11 straight primary victories before a month long hiatus before the March 4 delegate-rich primaries in Texas and Ohio.

Slimy GOP reactionaries, judging Obama as the more formidable opponent in Nov. intervened on Clinton's behalf, in the Democratic primary race, handing ultimate victory to Obama on a silver platter in the delegate fight.

The GOP base in the USA, about a third of the US electorate, listens a lot during electoral season to a bunch of reactionary celebrities, like Rush Limbaugh, who infest talk radio. There are also huge reactionary internet talking shops that have tremendous audiences. The GOP celebrities and hacks babbled openly in this media about GOP voters crossing over into Democratic primaries and voting for Clinton in order to stop Obama, since the McCain had already clinched the GOP nomination and the GOPs had nothing else to do.

GOP reactionaries turned out big for Clinton on March 4 in both Texas and Ohio. But Democratic
woman ... especially fat, middle-age, working and middle class, liberal and independent ... turned out even bigger on March 4 than the GOPs, giving Clinton critical wins in both states.

Obama consultants, using zip codes, precinct numbers, and someimes data on voting habits of individual voters measured the sneaky GOP cross-over and shared the info with key delegates.

"A new Democracy Corps survey [PDF] conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner (D) suggests that even in Republican congressional districts, disregard for the current administration is high, stoking Democratic hopes that the party could expand the battleground for November. "2008 can be another wave election for Democrats," the left-leaning group claims in its analysis."

[In 2008, Greenberg Quinlan Rosner worked for LF in the DR.]

"Forty-six percent of those surveyed said they plan to vote Democratic for Congress, while 39 percent said they would choose their local Republican."

"The survey also suggests that, in the presidential contest, Obama is running even with McCain in such pro-Republican areas. Forty-six percent of respondents said they would vote for Obama in the general election, the same portion who said they would choose McCain." [!!!!]

[SO, OBAMA IS RUNNING EVEN WITH McCAIN AMONG REPUBLICANS.]

"Adam and Eve were Communist. Who else could be naked, have nothing to eat but one apple between them, and think themselves in Paradise?"

0000

"Who else ... have nothing to eat but one apple ..."

"You all can eat from any tree you want, but you sho better not eat from that there tree of knowledge. "

So, unless all trees in the garden were apple trees or none of the non-apple trees bore fruit, GC is wrong again.

Adam and Eve were Communists because they owned the means of production in the garden in common, except for the apple tree ... or, in other words, the so-called tree of knowlege of good and evil or tree of ethics ... over which the divine being greedily retained title.

Adam and Eve's mistake was that they didn't eat first from the tree of life so that they couldn't die.

If they had, they then could have insolently and safely eaten from the apple tree or of the tree of knowledge without fear of dying or without any chance of dying.
