New York.– Democrat Barack Obama told voters Saturday he would push an aggressive
economic agenda as president: cutting taxes for the middle class, raising taxes
on the wealthy, pouring money into "green energy" and requiring employers to set
up retirement saving plans for their workers.
Campaigning in Pennsylvania, a key battleground in the fall campaign, Obama
said he would take a much more hands-on approach than would Republican John
McCain. He again criticized McCain's proposal for a temporary halt in the
federal gasoline tax. It would "actually do real harm," Obama said, by reducing
revenue for road and bridge construction even as oil companies make record
profits.
Obama visited the flooded Midwest later Saturday, stopping in Quincy, Ill.,
to help fill sandbags.
Speaking to about 200 people in Wayne, a Philadelphia suburb, Obama made no
new proposals but emphasized earlier ones in light of rising gas prices,
inflation and job losses. They include a $1,000 tax cut for most working
families; a new Social Security tax on incomes above $250,000; a "windfall
profits" tax on oil companies; a $4,000 annual college tuition credit for those
who commit to national or community service programs; and an end to income taxes
for elderly people making less than $50,000 a year.
Obama said he could pay for his programs by eliminating the Bush
administration's tax cuts for the wealthy, winding down the Iraq war and
spending more on alternative energy programs that eventually will save
money.
He said employers should be required to set up retirement saving plans for
workers even if they contribute no money to them. Workers would automatically be
enrolled unless they choose to opt out, he said. That way, he said, "most people
will save more."
He also vowed to spend $150 billion over 10 years to establish a "green
energy sector." It would require greater fuel efficiency in cars and devote more
money to solar, wind, and biodiesel energy.

The in-thing with the in-crowd are daily presidential tracking polls.
Here are the findings of the tracking poll from Rasmussen Reports for Sunday 15.
Sunday, June 15, 2008
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Barack Obama attracting 46% of the vote while John McCain earns 39%. When “leaners” are included, Obama holds a six-point advantage, 49% to 43%. This is the eighth straight day that Obama has enjoyed a lead of five-to-seven points"
http://rasmussenreports.com/publi..../daily_presidential_tracking_polloooo
Most of these pollsters have acquired the nasty habit of finding some kind of calamity for Obama in every Obama's lead in the polls. Since Obama's lead has held steady around 5 points and not grown for eight days, these pollsters conclude that things haven't gotten worse for Obama.

The CIA World Factbook gives this as a 2006 figure -- African Americans constitute 12.9% of the US people or 39 million people.
So roughly, Caucasoids constitute 70% of the US people.
So, if there are no drop-offs or ballooning in the turnouts, Obama needs about 40% of the white vote to win ... BIG ... if he keeps til November about 60% of the Latino vote and at least 80% of the black vote.

Don't celebrate too early because the Caucasoids are more politically and ideologically diversified than the browns and blacks.
The blacks are about 90% liberal and 10% reactionary. Black independents aren't even worth mentioning.
Browns are about 60% liberal [before Nov. 2006 only 55% liberal] and about 40% reactionary. Again, few independents.
But the Caucasoids are an ideological rainbow -- about a third liberal, a third reactionary, and a third independent.
So to win or get the deciding 40% of the white vote, Obama needs all of the liberal third [with a big liberal turnout] and about 7 points from the independent third of the Caucasoid vote. From Obama's point of view, white reactionaries are useless, hopeless, and worthless, but the size of their turnout for MaCain may be of great significance.

Al Gore for the whites, Bill Richardson for the browns (really only the Mexican Americans and perhaps the PRs -- US Cubans and other Hispanics march to a different drummer ), and naturally the heroic Jesse Jackson for the blacks.

The intra-class struggle for state power in the USA between the bourgeois liberals, the moral element of the US people, and the bourgeois reactionaries [ mostly a bunch of bloodthirty degenerates known as GOPs] is assuming classic form with Obama appearing to fully and tightly consolidate his liberal base, an essential first step.
The US electorate is evenly divided with liberals, reactionaries, and independents.
The gist of US politics is a vicious, knockdown, and stomp-em-when-down struggle between liberals and reactionaries to win over most or the mass of the "independents" who don't constitute themselves as an independent political force competing against the liberals and reactionaries.
So, "independents," a third of the electorate, decide who wins and loses.
But it's essential for a liberal or reactionary candidate to unite his base of either moral liberals or immoral reactionaries before he woos over the largely amoral independents.

Rich reactionaries are quietly funding Ralph Nader to run as a liberal, once again trying to impede the consolidation of the liberal base.
If the independents notice disarray in a base, whether liberal or reactionary, it's a pisser or a turn-off for the base and candidate which failed to unite before wooing the wishy-washy independents.
LF magnificently used the tactic wrecking the opposition, but he almost tore the PRSC to pieces.
Now, McCain hasn't united his base of reactionary savages. These savages ... or, if you prefer, conservatives ... neither like nor trust McCain based on his politcal record for the last 20 years. But lacking an alternative to McCain, the reactionary animals ... especially the immigrant haters and pro-life busybodies ... which infest the GOP have greatly silenced or toned down their criticism of McCain. But they still hate his guts.

So, you can see that the undecided is about 12 points. But the undecided is more of time thing than an ideology thing. It's just too early for the undecided to worry about the White House.

Al Gore endorsed Obama before a huge audience of 20,000 cheering Obama supporters Monday, June 16, in Detroit.

Bush has declared in writing by over 2000 signing statements that he will not enforce over 2000 US laws unless he wants to. He often doesn't want to.
The reactionaries, the fake patriots, conservative scum, and GOP trash cheer Bush precisely because he dishonors and disrespects the Constitution.

Cheney ordered the US spies to stop telling him the truth and find something ... anything ... that implicates Iraq on both accusations.
Richard Clarke, the White House top expert on terror, told Bush himself that Iraq wasn't involved in 9/11 before a big meeting of spies and cabinet members. Bush ordered Clarke to come back to him with something else.
Clarke testified to this under oath before congress and discussed it on CBS 60 Minutes.
Not one piece of GOP trash, except GC, has denied Clarke's account of the meeting.

I must say ... this Obama is a clever guy.
Since Obama didn't get a bounce out of Al Gore who endorsed this week, he now tries Clinton.
Perhaps he will get a bounce out of her.
But the bounce, if any, won't come from her endorsement because she pre-endorsed him and re-endorsements are stale things and don't mean anything.
If Obama gets 4 or 5 points out of Clinton next week from campaigning together, then she works electorally.
And it will be painful to deny her the VP spot.
Obama may vet all of his candidates for VP on the campaign trail in this way.
It's unlikely that any of the VP candidates will outshine Obama.

This is the eighth straight day that Obama has enjoyed a lead of five-to-seven points"

oooo
Most of these pollsters have acquired the nasty habit of finding some kind of calamity for Obama in every Obama's lead in the polls. Since Obama's lead has held steady around 5 points and not grown for eight days, these pollsters conclude that things haven't gotten worse for Obama.
I'm Pappabowie and I approve this message
Is that so?
Well, Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere Johnny
http://www.vietnamveteransagainst.....com/cin_declassified_landing.htm
For every performance before the media while he was a POW, Mc Cain was rewarded by the Vietnamese revolutionaries, beginning with wine and cigars and culminating with a separate room and a good-looking prostitute at the POW prison.
Note especially the interviews conducted in the USA after their 1973 release with the fellow American POWs of McCain.
"Obama did not fare well against Hillary Clinton among Hispanics in the 2008 primaries, but the early indications are that he will do well among this increasingly Democratic group in the general election. "
http://www.gallup.com/poll/107689....Road-Map-McCainObama-Matchup.aspx
Hispanics and Latinos constitute 15.1% of the total United States population [hopefully, of the US electorate, too], or 45.5 million people.
So, what the polls say about the white vote is the real thing.
40%.
If the black/latino think Obama is going to do any more for them them is already being done I think they may be disappointed. He will have his hands full and will be scrutinized for everything he does.
I think the best thing is to vote for the candidate with the best running mate
I say that becuae Obama will more then likely be impeached and McCain will die of natural causes .
There just isn't a good choice.
oooo
If you're soft and unproductive, don't blame the immigrants.
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while John McCain earns 40%. When “leaners” are included, Obama holds a four-point advantage, 48% to 44%. These figures show Obama’s lead to be a bit smaller than results from the past week ."
http://www.dominicantoday.com/dr/....its-McCain-oil-companies#comments
oooo
This slight drop could be just margin of error stuff or an early signal that Obama needs to adapt his tactics, perhaps not relying so much on a media campaign and returning to the stump at big rallies where he delivers fine speeches.
The drop also suggests that McCain didn't take a hit from accepting $300,000 from the Texas rapist.
You can't even imagine the media explosion if Obama had taken the 300.
http://news.yahoo.com/elections
0000
If the major ethnic groups in the USA are whites with 70% of the US people, browns with 15% , blacks 13% and, of course, the "others" with 2%, then Obama has the endorsements of the top liberal leaders of each group except the "others" whoever they are.
Al Gore for the whites, Bill Richardson for the browns (really only the Mexican Americans and perhaps the PRs -- US Cubans and other Hispanics march to a different drummer ), and naturally the heroic Jesse Jackson for the blacks.
This is an impressive array of liberal forces against McCain, the Hanoi snitch, with his pack of rapists and pro-Hitler allies.
[Gore, of late, displaced Bill Clinton as the top white liberal when people discovered that Bill Clinton isn't a liberal.]
But they still hate his guts.
http://rasmussenreports.com/publi..../daily_presidential_tracking_poll
Today's poll, as shown in an earlier post, shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while John McCain earns 40%. When “leaners” are included, Obama holds a four-point advantage, 48% to 44%.
So, you can see that the undecided is about 12 points. But the undecided is more of time thing than an ideology thing. It's just too early for the undecided to worry about the White House.
Obama hopes for a boost from Gore, maybe 2 or 3 points. If Obama gets them, it could be a breakout and bad news for McCain.
Let's see tomorrow what he gets.

Al Gore endorsed Obama before a huge audience of 20,000 cheering Obama supporters Monday, June 16, in Detroit.
"After eight years of incompetence, neglect and failure, we need change," Gore said. "After eight years when our Constitution has been dishonored and disrespected, we need changes."
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080617/ap_on_el_pr/obama_gore
Bush dishonored and disrespected the US Constitution for eight years and because of this, fake patriots or, in other words, GOP trash love him.
To most US citizens, the USA is the US people under the Constitution. So, without either the US people or the Constitution, there can be no USA.
"The constitution is nothing but a Goddamn piece of paper" Bush told a group of stunned GOP congressmen.

This political garbage in the USA say they don't believe the USA is the US people under the Constitution, rather, they say, the USA is the US people under a strong president like Bush.
In other words, rightwing garbage subsitutes this bag of slime from Texas for the US Constitution.
To unite the US reactionaries, John McCain has embraced all of Bush's policies, no matter how stupid and vicious they are.
That's not a change.

US spies, CIA and FBI, repeatedly told Bush, Cheney, and Powell, there weren't WMDs in Iraq and Iraq wasn't was involved in 9/11.
This blaming of the spies expresses a habit of US reactionaries and their toilet-roll carriers like GC of always passing the buck or passing responsibility for mistakes on to others.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while John McCain earns 41%. When "leaners" are included, Obama holds a three-point advantage, 48% to 45%. Both results reflect a single point gain for McCain and a continued fade for Obama’s bounce. Today’s results are the closest the race has been in polling conducted since Obama clinched the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Tracking poll results are updated at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day.

You are making that up, if you talking about the US people.
Bush enjoyed the support of about third of the US people, the reactionaries beasts, and the firm opposition of the liberal third of the US people.
In 2003, he also had the non-opposition of the independents on the proposed US aggression and occuation of Iraq.
The US aggression and occupation of Iraq is an unjust war based solely on US lies, opportunistically blamed by the Bush regime on "bad intelligence." So, whether the US imperialists win or lose this war is morally and legally irrelevant, for the US aggression remains an unprecedented act of evil and genocide in the case of either victory or defeat of the aggression.
The evil must stop.
US troops and mercenaries must be withdraw from Iraq, especially now that they have witnessed a truly mass slaughter of Iraqi citizens
