Santo Domingo.- The president’s office has confirmed that president Leonel Fernández will travel to Washington DC on January 19th to attend the investiture ceremony for Barack Obama as United States president on the next day. The Dominican president is on the list of Heads of State, Prime Ministers and special guests who have been invited to the ceremony.
As well as Fernández, the presidents of Germany, Argentina, France, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Guatemala will be attending, as well as the Prime Ministers of Great Britain, Canada and Jamaica.
President Fernández will be accompanied by Dominican ambassador in Washington Flavio Darío Espinal, Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso, Planning, Economy and Development Minister Temístocles Montás, who is also the ruling PLD party’s international affairs coordinator, General Héctor Belisario Medina, chief of the military attaché corps and presidential press director Rafael Núñez.

If you have an extra US$10,000 I can get you an invitation to one of the inaugural balls. That is the "minimum" fee that donators that are invited have to dispense with. But now it may be more since that was a few years back.
Remember that there are many "inaugural" balls in DC and the president elect goes to all of them in sequence and makes a showing.
It is an unforgettable grand party and all the who's who's in the US and the rest of the free world are there to celebrate the new US president.

Maybe the Hispanics were so enthusiastically behind Hillary and they failed to get involved in the Obama's campaign at an early stage. But today, Bill Richardson, who was the top Hispanic in the Obama's cabinet as Commerce Secretary, has to withdraw his appointment due to an ongoing investigation.

As far as the Hispanic community's presence in Obama's cabinet, I would say that it's missing. Maybe the Hispanics were so enthusiastically behind Hillary and they failed to get involved in the Obama's campaign at an early stage. But today, Bill Richardson, who was the top Hispanic in the Obama's cabinet as Commerce Secretary, has to withdraw his appointment due to an ongoing investigation.
