I´m aware that LF is one of the biggest hypocrites out there, gatita. Now, the thing you can´t possibly deny is that the US (and also France and Canada), have been, indeed, telling us to do what they´re unwilling to do, mainly via their NGO´s, which haven´t given any pause to the country with their constant whining and complaining about the situation of the haitians on the DR, when everybody knows that, no matter the miserable living conditions that they may have over here, they´re (and apparently will always be) better off living on this country than on their own homeland. If the US is not willing to do what they preach, then they should stop demanding us to act otherwise, when the DR (as you have already stated) is in no position to take care of its own citizens due to the robberies of our politicos (specially the one on top), even less to take care of the poor people coming from its neighbours. I'm not demanding for the US grant asylum to any foreigner that touches its soil or any such nonsense, what I'm demanding is that it either directs its NGO's to where it matters, that is (cont..)
