Steven Fisher, president Fernandez in the National Palace yesterday.
Santo Domingo.- “Our Man the serial adulterer: The married diplomat who had three affairs and got promoted to ambassador,” reads a headline in today’s dailymail.com.uk news source, in reference to Steve Fisher, who rendered his credentials to president Leonel Fernandez in the National Palace yesterday.
“A married diplomat has been caught having an affair for the third time in three overseas postings, 44, has been the subject of a Foreign Office investigation and seen his marriage collapse over his latest relationship, with a Hungarian employee at the British Embassy in Budapest,” it says of Fisher.
Dailymail.com.uk adds: Yet far from being punished, the deputy head of mission has been awarded a promotion.
It adds that the Hungarian employee, Kriszta Fogarasi was having an affair while Fisher's wife Linda, said to be 'hurt' by her husband's infidelity, was in that Eastern European country at the time.
“This month he becomes Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Dominican Republic and Her Majesty's Non-Resident Ambassador to Haiti,” it adds, noting that he’s the second envoy in a matter of weeks to embarrass the British Government.
Dominican Today tried to get a statement from the British Embassy in the Dominican Republic, but with no response.

Just think of all the time he'll save not having to go through a 'cultural adjustment' process. He can get right down to/on with the job...........so to speak.

The British diplomatic service,it appears, is not what it was in terms of quality but this man still must have considerable talent to avoid demotion in his next posting . The Daily Mail, which is a tabloid specialising in what it sees as sensations has described Mr Fishers posting as a promotion but maybe the Foreign office regards it as suitable punishment.

I am expecting to see TW at Punta Cana pretty soon, surrounded by such personalities as ARod, the honorable British ambassador, a few diputados and senadores and various judges. It is absolutely amazing how they will all commiserate and wonder at TW's predicament....they'd likely blame Elin for it.

DR must be one up from Outer Mongolia or the US of A!
The tremendous association between GB and DR must get stronger - a bond built over the years and growing ever stronger as the UK helps the DR on its path to its historic destiny as the leading nation in the region, continuing to forge as it has ever deeper ties with Cuba and other leading social democratic nations.

abc,
DR is already a leader: drug smuggling; government corruption; judicial corruption; prostitution; foreign debt; immigration; METRO; irreverent drivers union; poor education; strange names for kids; cronyism; irresponsible baseball players; bank thefts with impunity; pardon of notable criminals; grafting; highest paid government officials and legislators; poor public education; lack of transparency; lack of adequate check and balance; thugery; lack of freedom of press; abundance of oppulent and polluting yippetas; etc.

Blut is in tears - he cries a lot - his Russian agent has let him down with his Christmas caviar. Oh the shame! His other agent has said prices are high this year. So Blut like any good Indian has to cut his cloth and become eco-friendly - let US squatters into his principal residence - the one with so many broken down TV's and move into a nice eco-friendly teepee he has built himself.
