New York.– Twenty-one years after two people were murdered on a Brooklyn street, including a teenage bystander, a man has been convicted in the deaths. Ramon Espinal was first found guilty of the killings in 1991, but the conviction was overturned because authorities say his attorney failed to properly defend the case.

Espinal was again convicted of two counts of murder in the shooting deaths. Prosecutors say that in 1988 he opened fire on a rival drug dealer, killing him. A stray bullet struck a 15-year-old boy in the head.

Espinal flew to his native Dominican Republic, and was recently returned. Police, acting on a tip, found him hiding in a closet at the apartment of his brother's girlfriend. Espinal faces 25 years to life in prison when sentenced December 21.

Life with no parole!

Also Basta having animals like these doesn't make the Haitians any less guilty ...it is just a bit of the "Haitian cultural contribution" to DR .

Sure Josean we unfortunately have a lot of the backwardness in our society and we are not exactly like Haiti because we still had a small group of individuals who not withstanding the cultural weakness of a large part of the population were able to keep some semblance of civilization.Haiti like their brothers in Zimbabwe killed or expelled anyone who could run a nation and the results were to be expected.

Mandela in South Africa took a different tack since he knew that you cannot get rid of the people who built South Africa without slipping into chaos.

Leonel for all his faults has vision and does not think only of today ,but it is difficult for any Dominican leader because of the cultural deficiencies of the general population but he is at least making an attempt with his educational initiatives.

Our nappy headed leader is like most Dominicans ,mixed and he may have nappy hair but like most Dominicans "tiene el blanco detras de la oreja" .
