Santo Domingo. – The Police chiefs from 11 countries will meet in the resort town Boca Chica starting Wednesday, to design new joint strategies for the war on drug trafficking.
Attending the activity will be the heads of the Police of Colombia, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
The 17th Meeting of Police Chiefs and Directors from Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean will be inaugurated by local Interior and Police minister Franklin Almeyda; and by the head of the National Police, Rafael Guzmán.
The conclave aims to define strategies to bolster the war on drug trafficking, organized crime and related crimes, with stronger cooperation between the nations, a statement from the National Police said.
It adds that it also looks to fortify relations between the heads of Police in the region at all levels, improve the communications mechanisms and exchange of information, to confront all types of organized crime.
