New York.– The consul general of the Dominican Republic in New England said he is satisfied with the way that School Supt. Tom Brady has handled a flag incident at a local middle school, The Providence Journal reported.

According to the newspaper, after a brief meeting with Brady yesterday, Consul General Dominico Cabral said the superintendent assured him that the School Department was conducting a thorough investigation into the behavior of an administrator who allegedly stepped on a Dominican flag, and that it was an isolated incident.

“We are working together toward a solution,” Cabral said, flanked by a half-dozen members of his consulate, based in Boston. “The flag is our patriotic symbol. What was done was an offense to our symbol. Mr. Brady understands that the behavior was unacceptable.”

Brady, who met with the consul general in Providence, said that Cabral assured him that he would use his influence to calm the local Dominican community, which was outraged upon hearing that Robert Perkins, an assistant principal at Roger Williams Middle School, stepped on a Dominican flag last Friday after taking it away from three students who were running down a hall with it. Feb. 27 is Dominican Independence Day.

No one would dare doing that to the Haitian flag. The Haitians would descend on that school by hundreds of thousands. There is such a passitivity in the Dominican community in the U.S.. I never see them demonstrate when there is such an incident in their community. Dominicans are more prone to having a good time at the Domincan Day parade. But when comes demonstrating for serious cause or join other community in solidarity, they are always absent. Why is that?

The Dominican government can afford a consul so the rest of us don't have to descend on anything like a horde. Get a life, and a government.

Manny one Sunday about 20 years ago I was at the reposteria Espana close to Isla Verde airport ....it is the best in Puerto Rico I was hung over and trying to get out of my car to go in ....There was a man standing next to the car and i could hardly open the door I considered just opening it on his leg but common sense got the best of me and I waited and rolled the window down ....The guy looked very familiar ....It was Wilfredo Benitez " The Bible of Boxing " thats how he signed my autograph....Good thing I did not open the door on his leg

Haitian_Constipator_No13:

This is the main reason why US, Canada and european countries are freaking out to have Haitians living in their countries since your people only believe in destruction, 1804 obsolet
historic beliefs, vodoo and black magic.

Go and figure out with your dirt cookies and 200 years old History book!!!1

Why is it that these same "Haitian Patriots" continue to waste their time here, while their nation languishes?

Why are they such intellectuals when it comes to "our" affairs;

Yet, with theirs they need the U.N., the U.S., the charity of the whole world to assist them with their 1804 Revolutionary ideology?

Toussaint, Christophe get a clue, and a new place to leak your vile.

Look at your homeboys, and focus on your own problems.

Hey Hatian,

Is the answer to show up in hordes to protest? Cause an undue ruckus? It was an isolated incident, and was taken care of. Based on what you said about hatians "descending" on the school wouldn't that be notice that hatians are not entitled to live in USA, it is merely a privilege. The hatians should kiss the ground of USA upon arrival from the dump they are from. No infrastructure, deforested, the most corrupt government on earth, no ability to sustain yourselves without UN handouts? Well these may be the reasons the Dominicans want to preserve their country from the invasion coming in the form of illegal immigration from Haiti.

divert your attentions from the article being printed and engage you in some absurd and empty rethorics.
Theyknow one thing that when it is about about debating a subject of any concern to the Dominican Republic of the Dominicans people you are very clumsy. But when it is abour trading insults with the haitians your vocabulary is rich.
These Haitian posters sure know how to use this forum to advance thir cynical agenda.
Haven't you learn it yet?
