Miami.– A Haitian man accused of piloting a boat used in a deadly smuggling
attempt earlier this month agreed Friday to stay in jail without a
hearing until his trial.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Ann Vitunac ruled Friday that Jimmy Metellus, 33,
would be held without bond after his public defender said Metellus had
waived his right to a detention hearing.
Metellus is charged with trying to smuggle more than 30 migrants into
South Florida on a boat that capsized and sank about 15 miles east of
Boynton Beach. Nine people died. As many as ten others disappeared in the water and are believed to have drowned. There were nine survivors.
According to the arrest affidavit, Metellus made a deal with the men
who organized the trip, his passage would be free if he piloted the
boat. Metellus reportedly told investigators that the plan was to
abandon the boat once it reached Miami.
He said a man named "Shine" and
three others were the actual organizers of the trip. Metellus, who is
Haitian but has U.S. residency, said he left the U.S. in 2007 for
medical treatment in Haiti. He said he wanted to get to South Florida
to look for work because he has nine children to support.

Nine children to support? It's a classic Haitian lie, because he thinks that everybody knows that we are very prolific breeders. As you stated it Antonioj, the Sob should have thought twice before throwing those desperately poor lads to face an horrible death. Once again, he deserves to have his brain fried. Those kind of scums are not at all a big lost for my country.
Unfortunately, perilous adventures like that won't deter my people to take their chance on the open sea in order to seek a solution to their infra human way of living. And if I must blame someone, it will be that monkey who call himself President and who, in fact, is one of the member of the cartel that is devouring our little and desolated land.
I sincerely think that we must start a shooting guerilla war in our mountain and start dying for our people and our country. However, haitians are too subdued, too tired, too hungry and too brainwashed to even think about fighting for change.

My friend, in the sixties when you said to Haitian that you were going to New York, because at that times and according to them, the United States were New York period. They used to answer you back : "Ou pwal benyen ou byen pwomennen chen pou blan" which we can translate : " You are going to bathe and walk the white man dogs."
And when you said that you were going to Canada, they use to ask you: " kisa li ye" which means: "What is it?" and not even "where is it?"
There was a time they did not have freedom but they were disciplined and happy and they were self sufficient and producing all the food they needed. Now that they have "freedom and democracy", they are starving in their own country, and they are dying in the open sea to escape hunger. How come you call bastards who lurred them to adventures where they have more chance to get devoured by sharks, and you are calling such devils heroes? The one who is realist, as you point it out, is your president. He was quick to realize how the system works in North America, pragmatic enough to understand the good it can do to his country, and patriotic enough to apply the same concept to his land. Now, the result are so overwhelmingly enjoyable that it has swollen some of heads among your population, and with all due respect, yours too.
Don’t you have a mini subway system (the first of the Caribbean) in your Capital city? That is the work of a man with vision. Don’t you think if he was wasting his time in vain hateful rhetoric like yours and some others, the Dominican Republic would have been considered as one of the fastest growing economy in the Americas?
