MANAGUA. - President Leonel Fernandez called from Honduras government usurper and noted the striking resemble with his country when in 1963 president Juan Bosch was overthrown by similar groups in a coup, which would last as long as "a cockroach in a chicken coop.”

Speaking in the special session convened by the Group of Rio , the Dominican chief executive urged the Organization of American States (OAS) to reinstate president Manuel Zelaya’ to office, calling Honduras’ government illegal because its mandate didn’t come from a popular vote. “There’s only one president, Manuel Zelaya Rosales. It’s for Honduras and it’s for the entire Continent that we are fighting for democracy.”

Fernandez said his country completely supports the measures taken by the Central American Integration System and the Group of Rio, whose presidents were gathered in the Nicaraguan capital in what he affirmed, is to prevent a future contagion in the continent. “We support the legality and legitimacy so that the OAS, in a fixed, expeditious term restitutes the legitimate government of Honduras.”

The Head of State, said Honduras’ situation is similar to the coup against Juan Bosch on September 25, 1963, date in which the deposed leader Bosch vowed that the putsch would last as long as "a cockroach in a chicken coop."

Hitler, Mussolini et al rushed to Nic to undo the damage done by the Supreme Court of Honduras to their fascist wrap up of the continent when the suprema ruled that their constitution doesn't allow the president to call a referendum (particularly on the assumption of power of pres for life a la Hugo). The Honduran suprema reinstated the head of the army whom the pres had fired when he disobeyed the pres' order to enforce his unconstitutional referendum.

Their constitution provides for the honduran congress ONLY to call a referendum, not the president -- especially not to declare himself emperor.

But you'll hear nothing but tsk-tsk-ing that this is old fashioned latino coup stuff. Nonsense, Hugo/Correa/Morales/Ortega roll up of the continent under a pseudo socialist (fascist) dictatorship is old fashioned latino stuff, and LF is sucked into it with the power and money of oil.

Funny. I thought that was a Bush/Cheney thing.

There is a remarkable similarity here to what happened in Thailand a few years ago when Prime Minister Taksin , who has since been convicted by the Supreme Thai Court on various corruption charges, was removed from office with Army assistance . All the neighbouring countries huffed and puffed and called for the reinstatement of this corrupt man but in the end it was left to the Thais to decide things for themselves and they now have a wonderful PM. Taksin however got away with millions of dollars that should have been taxed.
I hope that Leonel and his crowd in Nicaragua do not make things worse and decide also to have a lot of rhetoric but leave the situation to the people of Honduras

Leonel is a communist along with his allies like Castro and Chavez. Naturally they are all nervous because they have as in Chavezes and Castros case changed the constitution however Leonel is trying to change the DR constitution to make himself dictator for life like Chavez and Canstro.

Circus Seals clapping like our foolish Speaker Pelosi does whenever Obama open his mouth to speak. Someone please tell them they look like clowns. LF's time is coming. People in the DR are now fed up with all the BS. LF needs to get the Zeyala treatment, with a few of his bootlickers in tow.

Leonel should stay at home and solve some of the DR's problems. For him to rush off for some face time with the stooges of the Western world only makes him look more foolish than he is. Wait for today's rally of anti-Zelaya folks in Honduras to see just how the citizens feel.
Meanwhile, the DR burns.

walnut, yesterday, here in Miami, there were a few groups protesting around the city. All I saw, were in favor of the Citizens of Honduras (at home), and stated Zelaya needs to stay out of the country. Anti-Zeyala is all I saw, although there may have been other groups.

just learned that LF "aka MANDRAKE" will fly on his GV from Managua to Panama after lunch, to attend a dinner tonight honoring Torrijos (outgoung Pres.). He could fly to home and be present at Juan Bosch's party, where there are a few international dignataries attending. Amazing, Mandrake the Magnificent would rather lounge in Panama all afternoon, rather than attend "his own party". He could easily attend the ceremonies in Santiago and fly to Panama for dinner tonight. btw, most all the Heads of State have already returned to the respective countries after their Managua pow-wow ! LF has not !

maybe he is carrying water for Obama who knows but the stakes are high at this moment and are more important than a commemorative party for Bosch

Dime con quien andas y te diré quien eres. Translated says; tell me who you hang out with and I will tell you who you are.
LF joined the other leftists in supporting another president for life wanna be, that was stopped in his tracks, and maybe too prematurely by the Honduran army, playing into his plans and making him a martyr, caused by his unconstitutional attempts for more terms in power.
From a conceptual point of view, I do not agree with coup de etats, but maybe that is the bitter medicine we need now, as a lifesaver from the sequestering of the populists and leftists professional politicians, that have to be physically pried out , to stop them from their addiction to absolute power.
Democratic elections are being hijacked by the Chavez types, and his cohorts, to impose a "dictatorship with popular backing", except the "backers" are the bankrupt Cuban style socialists and Chavez stooges.

If you all think that Leonel is hand in glove with Chavez who has no hesitation in appropriating private companies and public companies without compensation and if you are all very nervous about Chavez having 49% of the only oil refinery in the DR , can you imagine how all the potential investors must feel like !!! There have been various articles about the need for India to invest and Leonel has been strutting the international stage, allegedly seeking overseas investment..but now he seems to be supporting a left wing deposed president in Honduras who has defied his congress and his Supreme Court as well as supporting Chavez as well as trying to change the DR constitution without a referendum.....if you were a potential investor in the DR would you being having a few doubts ...I know I would be

What? No wise ass comment to my previous post? I guess you guys already know who Papa is. Stop masturbating each other and pay close attention:
Constitution of Honduras- Article 1:
Honduras is a sovereign state of rights, constituted as a free Republic. Democratic and independent to ensure justice, liberty, culture, and economical and social well being for its inhabitants.

Article 2-
The sovereignty corresponds to the people from which all powers of state emanate and are exercised by representation. The supplanting of popular sovereignty and the usurpation of constituted power are typified as transgressions of treason to the Homeland, and the responsibility in these cases is imprescriptible and may be deducted from office by the request of any citizen.

As you can see by these first and basic two articles. It is the People who decide. Due process is required. You can't just go and remove someone from office because you are congress , senate, or have alot of money.

Oh... and here's the nice part. Article Threee

Article 3-
Nobody owes allegiance or obedience to a usurper government or to anyone who assumes public function by use of armed force or by using means or ways that violate, breaks, or doesn’t recognize what has been constituted and what the laws establish. The acts verified by any such authority are null. The People have the right to recur to insurrection in defense of constitutional order.
Wow!!!! Isn't reality a great thing? Perception and correct discernment are good to. So is reading once in a while.

Three eyed owl I have been getting all my info from BBC news and BBC online as they have a representative in Honduras,,there are so many different sides to this story but the most fascinating is that the referendum was to be non binding on the ousted President ..so he was a winner either way .

Only the former President Zelaya was removed. All others in his government/cabinet are still in their same positions/functions. does that qualify as a coup?

The U.N. is a phony bologna organization put in place by the failed American state. They are not respected and should not be respected until it is cleaned up and no longer controlled by the Washington cockroach regime. No dignified government respects the UN anymore except the nations that control it.
