Santo Domingo.–
'America's
Most Wanted' helps
capture a Florida man, wanted on 76 counts of sex crimes against children, in
the Dominican Republic. The Santa Rosa County Sheriffs Office had been
searching for a registered Sex Offender, Joseph Christian Fontana aka Christian
Fontana since a warrant for his arrest was issued in 2006.
Fontana had
been on the run since 2006. He's accused of sexually assaulting the children of
a woman he met at church in Fort Walton Beach. Deputies say when Fontana found
out they were investigating, he took off.
'America's Most Wanted' featured him on a show in April. Someone in the
Dominican Republic recognized him and called AMW. U.S. Marshals arrested
Fontana yesterday. He is known to prey on single women who have young boys. In
1995, Fontana was convicted of lewd and lascivious behavior with a male child
under the age of 16.
Fontana is charged with: 25 Counts of Sexual Assault on a victim over 12, 25
Counts of Lewd & Lascivious behavior (conduct by persons 18 or older), 25
counts of Lewd & Lascivious behavior (exhibit by persons 18 or older victim
less than 16), and 1 count of showing obscene material to a child. He's
also wanted on a warrant in Okaloosa County.

The DR is a haven for these types and other fugitives. In particular the distant pueblos of the DR. From Las Galeras to Montecristi and all pueblos in between you will find individuals who never wish to discuss theIr past or families. I wonder why (hiding something)? There are many such folks, hiding amongst the background of the happy-go-lucky Dominican landscape.

That savage should rot in La Victoria. Don't send him back to the US. Let him share a cell with some hardcore tigueres and ladrones.

Single women with young children be aware! Protect your children! Do not exposed your children to strangers or newly met men.

actually, poponlaburra, one must wonder how many vulnerable young dominican girls , and perhaps boys, this reptile has probably molested while he has been here. due to the permissive attitudes locals have in allowing their young offspring to commiserate with gringos, whom they seem to see as wondrous beings, i am sure this guy has had a field day. i agree with the poster who opines that we should keep his ass here and give him an all expenses paid vacation in Victoria prison. there is nothing wrong with him that 5 years in that lovely resort cannot cure.

Dreadlock, I wonder too. Very sad because these Dominican kids will go on with life with such memory which will carve their future personality and no medical (mental health) counseling in the the horizon. Shouldn't they hold this guy in DR until he tell his victims names so the parents know to treat these kids when they start misbehaving or recessing?
