DUBLIN. - Dominican Republic continues to expand its diplomatic relations with the appointment of its first ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, Aníbal de Castro, who presented his credentials before Ireland president Mary McAleese

The diplomat will exert his function concurrently from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, said the Foreign Relations Ministry.

The accreditation ceremony, held in McAleese’s official residence in Dublin on Friday, consisted in an interchange of greetings between president Leonel Fernandez and his Irish par.

I know,I gone get shit from the deported Dominican to New-York.
But,who help the R.D. ???
The Americans,Canadians,Germans.Italians.French.
The are more than 20 years my government give to R.D. more than 10 millions$ every years.
And I'm sure its the same thing for Germany,France,Italy.and the U.S.A.

Stop to want help and help to make your country,you look like Haïti.
All you want its country to help you.
And what do you make to help the R.D. you left to New-York.

That's great news that the DR is opening up diplomatic relations with Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain. It's about time. I don;t see why some in this forum are so sinical and are opposed to this. Please stop being so ass backwards. By starting this type of exchange the DR will only become a better place for all.

Wow, GringoMontreal, there are the Irish that go to the Dominican Republic to visit. My husband has ancestors from Ireland. We have tourists from all over the world. snoopyy3k you are an intelligent person, and that is so true, by have the diplomatic relations with other countries such as Ireland, Dominican Republic will grow strong everyday as a nation.

Albeit some people said the same thing about the leaders of Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia. Look at where the Ambassadors are today that were once in those countries. There is hope still.
