Santo Domingo.- Foreign Relations minister Carlos Morales on Monday said Dominican Republic won’t be present as an observer in Honduras, because in his view the Organization of American States (OAS) already decided what must be done, which is demand respect from that nations’ coup leaders.
Interviewed from Washington by newspaper Nacional this morning, the official said the only valid solution in Honduras is dethroned president Manuel Zelaya’s return to power.
The other commissioners slated to attend Honduras were OAS General Secretary Jose Miguel Insulza, and the Foreign Relations ministers of Argentina, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica and Jamaica, and it’s not know if they will desist from taking the trip, as their Dominican par did.
“It’s necessary to respect the OAS resolution, it’s the only thing,” Morales said by telephone.
“Don’t expect me in Honduras if the coup participants don’t accept Insulza as a mediator. Why travel. We’re going to make them respect us. If he doesn’t go as General Secretary, not as an observer, then don’t count on my presence there,” Morales said, adding that the Dominican Government supports Zelaya’s return to power, and was received as Honduras’ overthrown President in the Dominican Republic.

Morales Troncoso, doesn't the DR have enough problems of it's own? Stop worring about El Payaso Mel and begin looking at ways to help your own country out of the multitude of problems you have on your own plate. btw, what size pajamas does your boss wear?

Juango,
Carlos Troncoso is the Foreign Minister of the country. Its his job to be involved in other countries, that's why there are other officials to deal with the problems of the country.

Yes wents, I know what his official position is. He should be working on bringing investment to the DR and promoting the DR as a positive place for future growth. He should stop his ego-driven posturing and work for a better DR. In this case, he is NOT furthering the DR's interest one bit. but he is part of the Banana Republic, that is quickly showing the world its position as a Failed State. Where are all the DR investments LF and company promoted as great deals? Morales Troncoso is a typical Latin Fatb Bellied Politico !

Unreal Mr foreign minister....by putting our country in the wrong side of history you have screwed the pooch in royal a fashion.....stay out Honduras and anything that smell like Chavez. PLEASE
From: Dominican Republic, la Romana
the one thing everyone here agrees on is that Zelaya should stay well away from Honduras ..why attempt to reinstate a president for two months before the election when all that will be achieved is unrest and more problems in Honduras and maybe some hollow form of victory for OAS.

From where I sit here near the Great White North, I surely cannot see those government people in Honduras . However, I could hear them shudder and pee their pants. So much fear has been imparted upon them, that soon they will be beging the fool, Mr. Zelaya, to return.
I wonder, if to save face, Honduras would take LF instead. As for us, heck we could take Mr. Zelaya in LF's place. He probably couldn't do much worse in remaining couple of months.
Win/Win situation the way I see it.

Antonio, for the record I'm not a Communist or a Socialist. And never the less a Capitalist. I'm just a human being with lots of respect for other people. I went to school and always thought that Democracy was good for your health. And is true to some degree, but not all human beings are created equals. Unfortunately, the majority of people on earth are having a hard time (making it). My thing is that Latin American citizens come from very rich lands. We do not need an empire to control or supervise our resources. This has been the problem for the last 5000 years. Big countries or big groups take away from the smaller country or smaller group. Unfortunately, Democracy has been playing out since the fall of the Roman empire. And all i see is empire after empire Capitalizing on somebody else resources. I think its time for us Latin American people to take control of our affairs and that means progress to all of us.

Not anymore Fred! We are going to stop that so we don't have to claim conspiracy & victim hood.
Were going to do it your way, democratically.Presently, we are re-educating ourselves. We are getting our kids educated so they can be better leaders in the future. And we are going to do it with your own law. How about that! Its just going to take a little while. Hang in there so you can see the end of conspiracy and victim hood. Now let me go to work and catch some criminals. that's what i do for a living in N.Y.C.
