PRESS RELEASE
Bronx, NY.- Hands On New York, Inc. a local community organization partnered with renowned artist from Dominican Republic Hector Acosta “El Torito” to distribute free school supplies to over 200 low-income children from The Bronx for the first time.
Hector Acosta “El Torito” and Hands On New York, Inc. hosted the event in advance of September 11th, which has been designated as National Day of Remembrance and Service by President Barack Obama.
“We are honored to have the support of El Torito who we know has a history of lending a helping hand whenever possible. He is known as an artist who despite its tremendous success, has remained humble and always been active in charitable causes” states Haile Rivera, Founder and Executive Director of Hands On New York, Inc.
“I enjoy helping those I can, in any way possible. Often it is very difficult due to our profession but we all must all find the day and time to give something back. I am very pleased with the work that Haile and his organization have been doing and could only offer my support. President Obama has asked each one of us to serve, and we should all answer the President’s call to volunteer and give back to our communities” states El Torito.

Pardon the skepticism, but I don't believe in the good deeds of individuals who can do their deeds privately instead of publicly.
This is not just a publicity stun, El torito could have done this anonymously. Again, is he trying to run for office in the near future.
