Just like I said in the forum a while back Ydanis Rodriguez is a Dominican Hero in NY.For those who didn't know this guy is my ex-teacher at Gregorio Luperon and the man who has shaped most of my ideal and the way I see my country. I wish him the best and will pay him a visit soon.

Thank you DT for putting light on the man I call my personal hero and mentor. Nice to see him getting credit here.

I known him for 13 years and he is what I wish we had as a president.I hope he decide to do that later.

Make us proud.

And remember in the US they send dishonest politicians to jail if they catch them.

Does the Gregorio Luperon school have a dual immersion program (Spanish/English) for the its students who I believe the vast majority are of Dominican descent?

Gregorio Luperon is a preparatory school that is temporary until students learn enough English to move into a regular HS.Back when i went there is was very small in 181th st but now is a full HS much larger and better equpped. Ydanis was one of the founding teachers which was mostly of Dominican teacher and personal. Many other Latinos go there too not just Dominicans.Ydanis was the one fighting for it to be put in place and from personal experience many of the ones who went there are actually professionals today(I'm one) who otherwise may never finished school it this bridge wasn't there. My relation with Ydanis went beyond school since we became good friends and I still pay him a visit when I'm in NY.

DR has very few people with the honesty and integrity of this guy.His integrity is unquestionable by all who have known him for a long time like me.He has been council for a while and almost no other candidate gets even close to him in the voting process. He always win by very large margins.

No one is a criminal or a saint, until they are... Let the man finish his term before we considered him for the presidency...

I meant that before he becomes president he needs to prove himself... Not in america, but in the DR where he is more likely to get away with corruption... Is easy to be honest when all are watching... remember what happened to the ex governor of illinois... I hate to sound pessimistic but he needs to do more... Every time i go to washington heights i see the streets dirty and restaurant serving beer pass 4-am.... why because the city doesn't care about us... If he cares he would have cops enforcing the law...
