New York.– A Dominican native who was deported in December 2009 after having been convicted of drug trafficking pleaded not guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in Providence to charges of identity theft and falsely representing his citizenship at the Rhode Island Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Odelin Enrique Medrano, 28, was also charged in a five count indictment with intentionally making false statements to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in an attempt to conceal his identity, and illegal re-entry into the United States.

According to the report, Medrano was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police on Sept. 15, 2010 after he allegedly attempted to obtain an identification card at the Registry of Motor Vehicles using a Puerto Rican birth certificate bearing the name of a different individual and a counterfeit social security card.

"Prison time and deportation is good for this one," curlando. I doubt he'll do prison time. He'll face deportation, but it will be a matter of time before he is back in the United States attempting the same crime. Sad, but true.

Identity theft..

That's light loot to carry. Kind of hard to fence though.

The US should realize deporting him is not working. US immigration laws are quite funny. They make it very difficult for an average Dominican to ever visit yet getting in illegally is very easy.

I am legally allowed to enter the US as I wish but I know plenty of people who get in through the borders very easily.

VeronicaDR,
I understand, but.....It's a question of legal vs. illigal after all America is a nation of laws. Your are proof the system does work.

Take Nicky Diaz...on National / international T.V admitting guilt.
Entered the U.S illigaly in 2000.
Faulsefied Fed. documents.
I.D theft. [SS#]
Obtained an drivers lic. illigaly.
Drove illigaly for 9 years.
Worked in U.S illigaly. at $24 an hour......many should be so lucky.
Drove Whitman's children around for 9 years, endangering their lives ? .
Has she voted in past elections ?
Claims employer abuse, with back pay.
Was fired in 2009, hires Allred in Sep. 2010 before elections [Allred big fan of Jerry Brown].
Many say honesty is the best policy....I say timing is everything.

Proof the U.S needs to close all the borders.

I wonder what's Tricky Nicky's next after Nov. 2nd elections ?
Will Allred defend Treaky Nicky's legal problems ? drama queen is still in the U.S playing victim.

Bush was in office 8 years not 16.

After only 18 months ????

2010 election an indication of things to come with the help of the independent and Democrat vote.
