WASHINGTON.- U.S. federal agents are currently taking part in what the FBI describes as the biggest anti-corruption operation in its 102 year history, arresting more than 100 people, 60 of them police officers on Wednesday, in a major law enforcement sweep conducted in Puerto Rico

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder in a 11:30 a.m. press briefing said U.S. Attorney for Puerto Rico, Rosa Emilia Rodriguez-Velez in charge of the case, and will also address reporters.

A senior law enforcement source familiar with the case and quoted by CNN revealed the initial strikes against the aledgly corrupt police agents, but declined to provide specifics on the raids.

However San Juan, Puerto Rico newspaper Nuevo Dia reports that FBI agents on Wednesday were "executing numerous arrest warrants" related to the investigation, with as many as 130 cops already under arrest.

“The agents were working in coordination with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Puerto Rico,” CNN reported quoting the FBI, noting that the arrests were related to "an ongoing corruption investigation throughout the island."

“To the people of Puerto Rico as you continue your fight against drug trafficking and corruption we will continue to stay with you,” Holder said in the briefing.

Eric Holder is an inept BOZO ! What a piece of usless crap he has become. How about growing a spine Eric, and telling the 10 (ten), yes ten, LA countries who have now joined Mexico (Calderon) in chastizing the state of AZ for the "illegal law" concerning undocumented/illegals who have crossed our borders into the USA. Not only are you useless, but also a sorry excuse for an american male ! Do us all a big favor, resign and then GO CRAWL under a ROCK somewhere !! I am sick of this anti-american crap from all of these puppet banana republics (Nicaragua ,Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Paraguay, Argentina, El Salvador).

This is the result of a long investigation. Corruption while still a problem in the US is a punishable offense beyond losing your position in the government like it is in the DR.

Expect a large laundry list of foreigners to be implicated including some from the DR as a result of this.

Plenty should be shaking in their boots including the ones who think they are completely above the law. Lets hope some of the major DR officials are named and can be forced to justice in a US court system. This will help our country and maybe show the way for some new leadership to do things like this to clean up our country.

A sweep like that in DR would result in virtually no police force, army, navy or airforce. What a great idea and the ability to start from scratch with new uncorrupted people in charge.

PR cops get arrested only because their superiors caught them holding out on them, NOT because the "people of PR continue (some supposed) fight against corruption ..."

But keep criminals in USA jails for life, don't send them back to DR after a couple of years in prison. They don't have criminal records in DR. (not yet)
