SANTO DOMINGO. – Honduras ex president Manuel Zelaya today said Latin America needs an organism which defends it against coups, and that the Organization of Americans States has not teeth penalize the countries when putsches and human rights violations occur.

Zelaya, who was overthrown last year, didn’t discard his return and take part in Honduras politics, but acknowledged that conditions aren’t favorable in the wake of the coup.

He also favors a constitutional reform to allow the presidential re-election in Honduras.

The ex Head of State, in a meeting with the deputies of the Central American Parliament, criticized president Porfirio Lobo for keeping in their posts the military leaders who led the coup.

He's right... that coup was againt all DEMOCRACIES in the region, and can happen to anyone who moves aways from the IMF and WB economic senses... We need to reconstruct the OAS... We need to get washington's long arm away from our region by presenting a United Front!

Man like Blutasky, whom those not understand our pain being from another world, takes for granted the words spoken above, clearly showing his lack of knowledge for the region's history and politics... What a buffoon! You're a white man; go badmouth your own society whom, in spite of what you may think needs a lot of counseling.

In an ever shrinking world, each country in our hemisphere is as strong as the OAS. In other words, if we wish to have a neighborhood of strong, democratic nation-states, then we MUST strengthen the OAS' ability to reinforce democratic principles throughout the Americas.

I shed no tears for Mr. Zelaya. He wanted to rule in perpetuity by "the divine right of kings". I say good riddance and feel ashamed we took him in. Why not exile him to be with his buddies, the Castro brothers, Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales and the lighter one in Brazil? For good measure, maybe Leonel should accompany him, permanently!

The OAS is a weak social club for heads of state of our region of the world. My hope is that it will remain so.

How do you want Latin America to be?, this is the question that each and every latino must asked. You have something to guide you as an example of Unity. The European Union. The Alba is what Latin American need to solve many of its economics and social problems but many fear is a plot by the Cubans or Venezuelans. They fail to see all the help that these nations are contributing and only focus on the propagandas made against them. You rather see more illiterate people and hungry people. The problem is that many people still have their history in their genes implanted there by powerful nations such as the U.S. Just like RILIGION implanted in their genes the beliefs about God and Jesus. Cause of it you remain a slave and ignorant while thinking that you are in the right. There was only one reason for the coup which was funded by the U.S., and that was to bring out Hondura from being a member of the group ALBA. This group has become a major threat to the U.S.

Glomarexplorer... What else do perceive from Zelaya's removal... Can't you see what that means for Democracy in the REGION?

Here's what I see... The Americans are still playing cold war politics on us and there's nothing we can do about it... The OAS is another tool for intervention and WE Latin Americans willingly follow its charters...

Mr. Franco censorship is only second to pedophilia and I don't practice either.

I have never supported banning or removing anyone or their comments not matter how vulgar or absurd they maybe. I feel the more people post the more the lift themselves up or sink in the mud that is their choice.

So my little pygmy brain friend go shower, because that accusation is as baseless as most of your commentary usually is!
