NEW YORK.- Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. seems to be one of those elected officials who don’t think twice to deliver on their campaign promises.
During his electoral campaign in Upper Manhattan, Vance vowed to come face to face with Washington Heights’ Dominicans and to open an office of the DA in the sector.
The one of the office has yet to materialize but between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) of in center will head a town hall meeting at the Isabella Home for the Aged on Audubon Av. between 191 and 190 streets, where he’ll listen to their concerns on public safety, crimes, police actions, frauds, mistreatment of seniors and will answer questions from those present.
It will be Vance’s first appearance in the neighborhood after his inaugural in the post on January 1, and fulfills part of his promises to the largest Dominican community abroad.

The Dominican vote should be just as powerful as the cuban vote, or the jewish vote. Untapped potential there, with dual citizenship we could have diputados para Dominicanos en el exterior. Senadores para Dominicanos de ultramar.
Dominican's have the numbers in not only the US but in Europe. It's not just those hookers that hang out the windows in Brussels red light district or the gang member's of DDP in Madrid. Many, many Dominican's abroad can be a force for good and hopefully their votes will count and become a reality.
If the haitian government would approve dual-citizenship they could regain all that lost diaspora that slowly is losing it's Haitian identity. I work with a Haitian personal trainer and she is hungry to know more about Haiti, but she doesn't even speak the language. That is a shame.

I don't know much about NYC but I did hear that the white Americans and Jewishs are taking over Brooklyn's brownstones. There is an immense increase in the rent and since the blacks can't afford it they are being forced to move out. So it may be their next step to marginalize the minorities.
