Santo Domingo.- The Boston Globe reports Friday that A JetBlue flight from Boston to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic was diverted this morning when an unruly passenger forced officials to land the plane in Virginia.
Quoting JetBlue official, it said JetBlue Airways Flight 691, carrying 149 passengers, was diverted to Washington-Dulles International and landed shortly after 1 p.m., the company said in a statement. The passenger, who was not identified, was taken into custody by authorities, the company said.
"The aircraft, an Airbus A320, arrived at IAD at 1:13PM and the customer was taken into custody by law enforcement,'' the company said in its statement using the three letter acronym for Dulles. "There were no injuries to any of our crew members or customers and is expected to continue to Santo Domingo'' this afternoon.
It adds that the federal Transportation Security Administration was notified, according to the company.
No other details were immediately available.
