Las Vegas, Nevada.– Eva Arias has her eyes set on winning the 2010 Miss Universe crown, which grand finale takes place on Monday, August 23 in Las Vegas, United States, with
“Poison” rocker Bret Michaels and NBC anchor Natalie Morales playing
hosts for the event.
Eva, 25, took part in the Miss Dominican Republic beauty pageant back in 2006,
but failed to win the crown. However, she did not lose faith, and four years
later she competed again and walked home
with the national crown.
After working hard to reach the Miss Universe pageant, Miss Dominican Republic
Universe 2010 is considered as a favorite this year, according to experts and online polls.

You could be right, but i dont think so. The last time Haiti sent a representative was back in 1989, so i think her chances are slim, but then again with what's been hapening in Haiti, you never know. Eva Arias has a better chance to win, since Dominican Republic is always in the top 5.

It is going to be tough. Miss Haiti has a lot of qualities but the competition is stiff.
I still can't get over Miss Venezuela last year, I have seen her on TV interviews and she appears to be a real air head, but of course and no doubt very pretty, but not really that beautifull. I just can't believe that her victory was obtained simply on the basis of her response on last segment, in a randome question towards the end of the pageant.
My conclusion, Miss Ven 2009 is not much in the head department, not really that great looking and scored the lowest in all categories, yet was selected to win. Go figure??? So until the very end, nobody really knows and anything can happen.

I don't know what you mean by "Dominican Republic is always in the top 5" considering that since the pageant started in 1952 the DR has won once and has had 3 top 5 finishes, that's quite a bit away from "always".

I don't know how my correction of a statement with corrective factual data would be considered anti-Dominican. I did not create nor am I responsible for creating the actual results of Dominicans in the Miss Universe Pageant, so why should I be chastised for pointing it out after the fact. Besides only a person or persons of the most amoral fiber would want to be credited for something that is not deserved.
