Miss Mexico is crowned Miss Universe 2010.
Las Vegas, Nevada.– Miss Mexico,
Jimena Navarrete, 22, has been crowned Miss Universe. First runner-up
was Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps, while second runner-up was Miss
Australia Jesinta Campbell.
Navarrete, who has been modeling since
she was 15, is Mexico’s second Miss Universe. She is from Guadalajara and won over the judges in
Las Vegas after telling them it was vital to teach children family
values.
Her win earned her a congratulatory message on Twitter from Mexican
President Felipe Calderon, and ends the reign of outgoing Miss Universe
2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela.

Thats just whats needed a distracktion from the mass Mexican killings and counting with the phrase "VIVA MEXICO"......this year Mexico's "Dia de Los Muertos" will have a new meaning.

Jamaica was indeed the best eye candy on the night....Puerto Rico....sorry....looks way too pedestrian and lacking in social grace.
My own Miss Canada looked like a transvestite....I could find better in a pool hall.

I wonder who sleeps with her first El Chapo Guzman or El Mayo Zambada? Perhaps even Edgar Valdez Villarreal aka "LA BARBIE" they appear to be the most powerful people in mexico.
VIVA MEXICO OR VIVA EL CARTEL?

Why does she have to sleep with the Cartel to get a crown.
She is beautiful, so is Jamaica I wanted either or to win.

I though Jamaica had it all locked until she opened her mouth. Once she said the word GOD in front of all those liberal judge she was doomed. I though she was the most complete of them all (it probably cost Miss Utah the USA crown once she stated she was in favor of SB1070) . Like last year with Miss Dominican SHE GOT ROBBED. Thailand was real cute I really loved her attitude.
A critique for our judges in DR next year. Make sure you don't select someone with obvious done surgery to her face.

gano la chaparrita lol...i didnt think mexico was a big deal, jamaica was so hot! her only problem was been black! only light skin chick gets the crown here.

Maybe I'm wrong, but.........I begining to think the real winners were the cosmetic companys, fashion designers and the plastic sugeons.

Why is it that if you believe in religion and god...that is normal and accepted...believing in something that nobody has seen.
But if I worship my rum...I am considered a nutbar?
Hey...the rum is everywhere I look, it makes the world look better and if taken too much..it punishes me and tells me to behave! And unlike god...or the so-called god...I can always find rum when in need.
Why do they not bring rum to my door, like they do leaflets about god? I would be more interested in inviting these religious vaccum salespeople into my house.

Sorry, although I would have loved the DR to win, the Dominican girl looked like Michael Jackson after the surgeries.
Mexico deserved it.
And someone mentioned Colombia here? I am sorry, bu her head was way too big at the top.. she looked like Frankenstein.

Last week on the French TV we had a TV show about Miss Venezuela election . By the way the big majority had had a surgery operation ( nose, breast etc) .
The most important fact I retain: one venezuelan journalist said that it was really hard for a black woman to win . His protégé was number 3 of the contest and the most beautiful.
The most amazing thing is that girl was a mulatto almost a quadroon.
Nowadays the "white beauty features" are adopted unfortunately in many Misess contests.
Really I found this Miss Universe average. Plus you can find some hot Mexican Indian beauties in Mexico ...More beautiful and more representative of Mexico...

Here is something...kind of like Amricans calling themselves "world champions" in sports where no one else from the world is invited to contest the claim....
Should a winner of a "Universal" competition not have more than one language as the current winner did?
I think that language skills blend the world much more effectively than looks alone.

Mike,
That's an interesting statement that you made "....Americans calling themselves world champions in sports where no one else is invited to contest the claim...."
I know that is true of MLB but I don't know of any other US sports championship where that is claimed. Although, the "World" Series Champion of Baseball would beat any team the world over whether they were invited to play or not is pretty much a given.

The Dominican should have won. Plain and simple.
WHY! IS IT BECAUSE THATS WHAT U WANTED? IN THE REAL LIFE U DONT ALWAYS GET WHAT U WANT DO U?
From: Dominican Republic
Devin...ever wach American football...they also refer to them as the "world champions". Not downplaying the professionalism of the players, but unless it is indeed a world event...a hollow claim.
As for baseball...how did America do in the World Baseball Classic? 2 times running??? Once you take away the non American players from the MLB, you have average ball...nothing more. And it showed when the game was on the line.
I am not saying anything nationalistic, just that a world event should be that...a world event...for all to contest.
And in the case of this pagent...which on the grand scale of the world...means next to nothing...languages should be a factor, as much as any other aspect of the judging.

Sorry PuntaCana, the Baseball Classic is no demonstration of each countries abilities because if the best players were TRULY available to each country it would be US and DR as top dogs and DR would NEVER lose to the Netherlands!!

Mike,
I don't disagree with anything you've said Mike, I just didn't notice the "world" implication in other US sports. I think you are being hard on US baseball though, to suggest that taking away the non-US players from the MLB creates average ball is just not correct. If you want to use the WBC as the yardstick then how do you quantify the Dominican performance of losing to a makeshift team from the Netherlands with practically no MLB experience twice and thus eliminated in the very first round of play. Does that mean that the DR can't play baseball? Does it mean that the Netherlands is a baseball powerhouse? Of course not. It just simply means that over the course of a short series anything can happen. Over the long term a team of the most talented baseball players from the US will win because they have a higher amount of quality pitching than any place else and in baseball pitching is king.

Pepe,
I don't think the DR team needed anymore players than it already had to beat the Netherlands, that team was loaded with MLB stars. I don't care if the players on the DR team each had no sleep, 4 prostitutes, a fifth of scotch, an ounce of weed and a gram of heroine, they had no business losing to the Netherlands. They had more than enough talent to win both those games by mercy rule. They lost because they did not play as a team, no situational hitting, no productive outs or moving runners over, no respect for the opponent. Every player trying to be the hero, trying to hit a five run home run on every at bat. Trying to do too much instead of enough and then when the other team was still around the pressure got to a fever pitch, well you know the rest.

I think the winner in this Ms. Universe wasnt the best looking one or more prepared candidate. Haiti was very well represented so was Guatemala, and many others I dont think ms. Mexico was the best choice.

Its all in the Euro look.....
From: United States
With all the comotion made about Miss Haiti and the DR as supposedly favorites, neither one made it to become at least finalists. Miss Puerto Rico had great and beautiful eyes, but lacked class and finesse. Her dress was horrible, GOD her advisors screwed it up for her.
As far as Mexico was concerned, she is a worthy winner. She is close to perfect. If you study her well, the facial features were even, very well balanced, propotionate to the rest of her body. I know miss Jamaica was hot, but she lacked aesthetic precision, just did not have the same kind of symmetry.
The more I observ last year Miss Universe from Venezuela 2009 the more I realized how the Dominican Republic got a bum deal.
