Washington.– The U.S. government announced an aid worth US$1 million to support Peace Corps volunteer efforts that improve rural access to energy, mitigate the effects of climate change, and support the use of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies in Central and South American countries.

U.S. State Department said it was providing the fund in support of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA). With this funding, Peace Corps volunteers will work with international experts, local organizations, businesses, and community members on the ground to create efficient and green solutions to energy challenges in the Americas.

Peace Corps' initial ECPA-related efforts will be implemented in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Suriname.

The comment that the earth is cooling flies in the face of all known facts.

Kind of like your comments regarding the government.

Actually research back to the mid 70's and the same guys were scaring everyone with tales of the next iceage coming unless we did the same things they are telling us to do today. Ironic...isn't it.

Also funny that global cooling of the 70's became global warming of the 2000's and now they call it "CLIMATE CHANGE". I guess they cannot go wrong with that name!

My concern? A world so flucked up by these nomads of science, that nothing changes...there lays the BIG PROBLEM.

When nothing changes...you are dead.

Sorry - glaciers are definitely melting. In the 70's I skied in the summer on glaciers that are just bare rock now.
Anyway best to finish with oil and coal for 101 other reasons also.
The power of the wind, sun, tides, water is enough!

sure abc...and in 74 they were advancing and threatening towns. The Earth does not stand still...why do so many think that change one way or the other is the end of the world???
What we have is global shrinkage...of those who are not influenced by mass hype and control. Sad to say that many have a comment on things they know nothing about...but still wave the flag in support...because they were told to.

PCM - plenty of other reasons to switch to renewables...........
Also in developing countries to avoid importing oil etc.
Life is sweet when there is low environmental impact........
Belching power stations should be a thing of the past.
