NEW YORK.- Customs and Border Protection Agents (CBP) arrested the Dominican Bernardo González in Kennedy International Airport, for trying to smuggle 30 kilos of cocaine with a street value of US$1.4 million.
The authorities said the Dominican brought the cocaine in pots, casseroles and pots and several pairs of tennis shoes, but detected by trained dogs.
The detainee had allegedly brought the drug from Santo Domingo in utensils and footwear in his luggage, but when the agents noticed the shoes’ thicker than normal soles, used the dogs to sniff the inside, and found a coffee colored substance which tested positive for cocaine.
González, arraigned in East District Federal Court on drug trafficking charges, faces as much as 25 years in jail if convicted.

LET him go
why should they let him go?
they have caught many drug smugglers {gringos} in the pop airport did they let them go?. is guy a friend of yours? maybe u think hes a good guy just trying to take the short cut in life to make a cool few million dollars is that it?
think it was one or two of the customs agents.
when u give this some thought the pots, and pans most of the time are going from new york to the dr.
guess they had thoughts hey! whats going on here.
I noticed that when any flight from DR to JFK, the US Customs are more cautious to inspect the luggage of DR's passengers.
Why? Because there are so many Dominicans think they can sneaking around like DR and make easy money fast.
