New York.– A
New York man who allegedly bought 15 guns in Pennsylvania and shipped
them to the Dominican Republic said he was ill the day he was arrested
and wants a judge to dismiss his confession, The Morning Call reported.
Federal prosecutors say Victor Peralta readily agreed to confess to his purchases after he was read his rights. They also say that photos Peralta took on his cell phone, released with other court documents on Friday, show the guns and Peralta showing off thousands of dollars in cash.
According to the online newspaper, some of the gun purchases, including handguns and AK-47s, were in Allentown, Tamaqua and Quakertown. Peralta was charged May 5 after federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were informed he was trying to buy seven guns at a gun shop in Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.
According to a signed confession included in the court documents released Friday, Peralta said he bought 15 guns in eastern Pennsylvania. Some, like the assault rifles, he sent in packaging while others were disassembled and placed in powdered drink containers before he shipped them from New York to someone he knew only as "Yunior" in the Dominican Republic.
Peralta also said he obtained his Pennsylvania identification from a Dominican government official. Once he received word that the guns had arrived, Peralta said, he flew to the Dominican Republic to meet with Yunior, who paid him $1,300 for each handgun and $2,600 for each assault rifle he successfully smuggled.

Off to jail.
Typical Dominican inbred entitlement mentality.
Oh, I was sick that day, I wouldn't be held accountable in the DR if I was there so why would I be held accountable in the US.
Once again, screw you.
Its cominggggggggggggg
i also would be very, very, very ill if the feds from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms got hold of me.....
HOPE HE ENJOYS THE REST OF THIS LIFE.
I hear weapons smuggling into Jamaica from Haiti is also getting really bad. The weapon of choice in Jamaica is now the AK-47. With both there borders wide open and neither country patrolling the waters, its a easy transaction via speedboat.
It's like going back in time 200yrs when the pirates ruled the sea. Pirates of the Caribbean still exist after all these years.
Semi-auto rifles that are made to look mean. Liberals are such pussies.
I think i know this guy!
I met a romanian by birth dominican citizen (naturalized under Hipolito) in rio de Janeiro and he told me that he smuggled guns and was cool with hippo. He and and his father smuggled guns to Croatian back in the balkans wars from the DR... He was very pleased with his record and surprised by our presence in Rio!
