Santo Domingo.- The governments of Taiwan and the Dominican Republic signed a letter of intent Monday to cooperate in exchanging information related to money laundering and funding terrorism.
Taiwanese Ambassador Isaac Tsai signed the letter of intent with Mabel Feliz Baez, head of the National Drug Council (CND) and anti-money laundering committee.
After more than three years of discussions, the two countries reached a consensus on the content on the agreement, the Taiwanese embassy said.
This will be the first anti-money laundering and information exchange agreement signed between Taiwan and a Central American or Caribbean country, which should boost substantive cooperation efforts between the judicial authorities of the two nations, the embassy said.

USA is not the same as the Dominican Republic. Americans are by-and-large the victims who pay for this insidious industry, not the middle-men who make huge profits from it. They are the addicts who's lived are destroyed, as well as the victims who are robbed to pay for the addiction.
