Santo Domingo-. All seven people who work in the Dominican Embassy in Japan are well and didn’t suffer any injuries from the 8.9 magnitude earthquake in that nation on Friday, affirmed the Dominican consul in Japan, Carlos Cepeda.
Cepeda, who arrived in the Dominican Republic yesterday, told news source listin.com.do that he’s been in contact with the personnel, despite that Japan’s capital, where the Embassy is located, was severely rocked by the quake.
The diplomat added that the work at the Embassy, located in the 9th floor of an office building in downtown Tokyo, hasn’t resumed because an elevator failure forced its evacuation.
Fernandez conveys solidarity
In a related development, president Leonel Fernandez conveyed the Dominican people’s solidarity to Japan Prime Minister Naoto Kan.
"In the name of the Dominican town, my own and the government we convey feelings of solidarity to you and you fellow citizens for the natural events in such a difficult day for Japan," Fernandez says in the statement published in the presidency’s Website.

Semper fidely, brother in arms
As for wondering about 2012...if you believe that, you also believe that you will win the lottery tomorrow. By the ticket and drink the koolaid.
Japan is well prepared for earthquakes and it shows for this one...one that would totally devistate this country.
But rating agency Moody's was more upbeat about Japan's capacity to deal with the quake.
"In a big economy like Japan, the impact of a natural disaster can be absorbed economically by the government and private insurance, so there will be no impact on government's finances and therefore Japan's sovereign rating," it said."
Tough but Japan is an Advance Modern nation with a Major Economy. It has the means and Organizational strength to see through this difficult and severe event.

A desperate act. I hope it works.
