Ottawa.– The Canadian press reported that the Dominican man who vanished in Saskatchewan, after jumping out of a car, has been found in a field near Thunderhill, Manitoba dehydrated and hyperventilating.

Santos Nuñez, 50, is now in hospital and his wife in custody. According to the Canadian police, new evidence has surfaced that the visiting man disappeared because he thought his life was in danger.

He had leapt from a moving vehicle on Sunday after complaining of feeling ill, and hid out near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border for four cold days and nights before being found by police and taken into Border Services custody.

Friends of Nuñez told the press that he was frightened for his life, and believed running was his only option. "When he jumped off the car he just ran into the bushes. He took his pants off so they couldn't find him, because he was wearing white pants," said the friends.

They also revealed that Nuñez had been hesitant to accept medicine from his hosts, fearing it would harm him.

In an exclusive interview and with the help of a translator, Santos Nuñez's son, Carlos Angelo Lahoz Bonilla, told News Talk Radio that his father had come to Canada to help a Canadian build a deck.

Wow...taking his pants off in the cold environment (because they were white) was simply brilliant. And why is his wife in custody. This dude was either tripping or has serious mental issues.

I am pretty sure this story is not translated well, because that doesn't make any sense.. there must be a chunk of info. missing somewhere.
Anyways... nobody here knows what he was going through. We only know the story from "the friends" side. He might have been in danger.
I think that DominicanToday needs to hire some people that actually know English grammar. Just speaking it is not enough.

He jumped off the car wearing white pants? Obvious typo but really the burning question here is. ... did the deck get finished?

Came to Canada to build a deck? Jumped out of a moving car, then was afraid to take medication because he is afraid for his life??? Maybe the newspaper should indeed wait to get some sense into this "story" before publishing it.

I did some research in the area, and supposedely, quite a few bodies have been found around there, including one on Sept 4th (about 7+ instances that I have found so far this year alone). maybe he heard the stories or was really in trouble and is not as crazy as we think he is:

I wonder how the man is now, and whether he really met with any danger in the end. I doubt that he would imagine himself being at risk for no reason at all unless he was psychotic.

"Santos Nuñez's son, Carlos Angelo Lahoz Bonilla, told News Talk Radio that his father had come to Canada to help a Canadian build a deck."

What BS............!!!
Who is going to believe he came all the way from the DR just to build a deck ?
I dont think the guy came to build a deck, he is just simply not playing with a full deck and if true neither was the guy who hired him.

Another possibility, might be the wife has a Canadian lover who duped the husband to think he was coming to build a deck but the intent was really to kill him and collect on the insurance policy.

Am I watching too many TV crime shows?
