Miami.– After spending two weeks in Miami recovering from a blood clot in his lung, Haitian President Michel Martelly said Friday he's due back home on Monday.

Upon his return Martelly will give a news conference at the airport, he said in a statement. He flew to Miami on April 16 after he complained of chest pains.

According to his office, doctors diagnosed him with a blood clot that stemmed from an operation on his right shoulder.

You know if you have two idiots who manage the island, is not good for the island. But if you have a man who want the real change, the benefits will be share with the other side.
Now a lot of Dominicans working in Haiti! even the Dominicans hate Haiti, they make a lot of Money thanks to Haiti. And when a Haitian want make the same is a great problem for the Dominicans. KISKEYAMAN,
I agree that Haitians do much of the hard work that Dominincans don't want to do, and was attacked here for saying so.
Regarding the earthquake, Haiti was in big trouble even before it happened, however no denying how devastating it was, or that or may well happen in the Dominican Republic.
As far as USA taking this country, I don't think they will in the foreseeable future. I believe the USA is entering another isolationist phase, and have had a gut-full of foreign involvement in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. The motivation for their previous involvement in this country is no-longer there. I think it would be the best thing for this county and its people, but most Dominicans don't think so, and why should Uncle Sam bother anyway?
