Caracas.– Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez said he is heading back to Cuba tonight for his next round of radiation therapy as part of his cancer treatment, he announced through a phone call broadcast on television.

According to Chavez, the daily radiation treatments in Havana will help him continue what he calls a "battle for health and for life". He has been making regular trips to Cuba for treatment.

He returned to Venezuela on Wednesday after his second round of several days of radiation treatment following surgery in February to remove a tumour in his pelvic area.

Maybe he should put on an Easter Bunny outfit and bring chocolate eggs to the citizens of Cuba.

Why not pray to some Catholic saints to intercede - there are dozens that have been attributed with miracle cures for cancer.

According to the International Press Chavez is going to Brazil for emergency treatment for intestinal radiation burns. Reports suggest that Cuban medics administered the radiation improperly causing his burns.

Slash, poison and burn ae not very likely 'cures' for cancer, though doctors themselves on occasion refer to cures of short duration. I'd rather eat roasted dandilion root, and would be more hopefull of a cure. 'First do no harm' 'Let food be your medicine, let medicine be your food' any idea whose ideas those were?

With the power of Jesus and the prayers of a nation, who needs bio-medical science?

Poor Roystone, real atheists don't care so much about God,you are just an anti-Christian since you are obsessed with something you say doesn't exist,I pity you and your children and hope that before you meet the maker you will realise the error of your ways.

"Give me life, even if a life in flames, or in pain, it doesn't matter," Mr Chavez said as grim-faced family members looked on and clapped."

be careful what you wish for ...
Chavez may just get what he asks for ,but after attacking the church and even sending his supporters to attack the funeral of a Venezuelan Cardinal now he sees his end and wants forgiveness!! Hopefully Roystone will not wait that long to repent..

If the church has The Almighty Creator of Heaven & Earth on it's side, why have I not been turned into a pillar of salt already, and why, despite the prayers of millions of the faithful, did Pope John Paul die from a mere urinary infection?

hellborn25,
He was begging Jesus to save him, not Lenin or Marx. He would not seek treatment in the USA since he says they used technology to give him cancer in the first place.

I suspected for many years that Chavez was ill. Common sense, one day he was thin then over time he became bloated. Typical Political leader of a poor country blames U.S. like all the other poor socialist leaders do to rile up citizens and take the focus off the poverty he has created.Just like Fernandez. The people are blind. If the U.S. used a bio weapon on him, what would we gain, his oil. No, he sells his oil here now. Just like all the uneducated said we went to Iraq for oil. Show me the oil. Gas is almost expensive here now as it is in Santo Domingo.Remember folks, cancer rates are high in countries that fry food The FreeRepublic explains the burns Chavez received by Cuban Doctors and there are more articles out there.

I realize the views of many regarding Mr. Chavez, however I do feel for him. HE is a man, he has his ideas, his views , his ways. We have ours. I am not saying by any means he is right , but I Do care for him and I love his country. Many things are wrong but that is everywhere. Al these ugly statements , be kind if you can , you will feel better and lets wish him well. I wish him well and ease of pain. Get well Mr. Chavez
