New York.- A minute of silence was held in New York Tuesday morning to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Afterwards a ceremony was held for families on site erected where the World Trade Center’s twin towers were destroyed in the attacks, which left some 3,000 dead.
No political speeches are scheduled for this year's ceremonies, except U.S. president Barack Obama at the Washington DC Pentagon ceremony.
