San Juan.- U.S. officials in Puerto Rico on Friday announced the arrest of two Dominicans on a boat headed toward the island’s south coast, seizing 1.2 metric tons of cocaine whose estimated value is US$29 million, EFE reports.
In a news conference at Coast Guard headquarters in San Juan, U.S. Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico, Rosa Emilia Rodríguez-Vélez announced the arrest of the Dominicans on December 30, identified as Jose de Leon and Wilson Concepcion.
Rodriguez said local and U.S. authorities are "proud" to have struck a "blow to a shipment worth millions before reaching its final destination of Puerto Rico."
She said the crew of a Coast Guard aircraft flying over Puerto Rico’s south coast spotted a suspicious vessel, and requested assistance until finding the drug and arrested the Dominicans, who await arraignment and face a long prison term if convicted.

$29million x18% = another feeder for the Metro
Yet another fine example of some of our compatriot's attempts to further sully our reputation.
