He had his vision that many may not have agreed with but it shows that immoral division of wealth and income can easily lead to drastic changes and his initial election brought in dramatic changes ,
Still good health is more important than all the political considerations and I feel sorry for all the pain that he went through as a reasonably young man and may God rest his soul.

The only people worse than Chavez were the lazy, moochers who voted for him.

The man was a murderer and they still voted for him because he promised them free stuff.

I wish I believed in Hell. Because if there was there would be a special place for these people.

Commander Chavez had a big generous streak in his being, giving away all that Venezuelan oil, to renegade countries like Ecuador, and helping support the Castro brothers. The DR also benefitted for this free for all, that is sadly coming to an end, sooner rather than later.
I hope that while in hell he can send a message to Fidel and Raul, to come keep him company, since he can not longer sue them, for malpractice.
RIP Mr. Chavez, I am sorry for anyone dying so young from a terrible disease, with such a sad ending.

He said that the Bush administration was deceptive and full of liars, he told the truth. He said that the US agenda is to destabilize govts that oppose their bullying. Again, he spoke the truth. He helped so many poor countries that much richer countries than Venezuela turned their backs on. The DR got oil for beans, something no other first world country would do.

In my book, he was honorable, valiant, and courageous. He was a humanitarian, a maverick, and a drum major for justice. Chavez, Rest In Peace!

President Chavez was a benevolent friend of my people and many like them in our hemisphere; for that I am eternally and sincerely grateful. While he lacked the intellect and charisma of Fidel Castro, he didn't lack in enthusiasm and desire for binging about change for the underprivileged, and extracted the most out of his endowed talents and managed to attain the love and adulation of many of his countrymen.

I haven't always seen eye to eye with his tactics and policies, and acknowledge that ultimately he would have emerged as a powerful dictator; I am firmly against all dictatorships-be they of the right or the left.

President Chavez has left an indelible mark both in Venezuela and regionally, and he's likely to be much greater in death than he was in life.

For various reasons, some good and some bad, President Chavez will be missed by many. My people already miss him-I am certain. Rest in peace, President Chavez.

Love him or hate him, Chavez was a BIG warning to those upper income groups that unless they govern with foresight and competency, the wrath of individuals like Chavez will emerge. I didn't agree with Chavez on most points, but his power was amassed due to all the corruption, malfeasance and poor governments that Venezuela had prior to his coming to power.

Hugo has not turned the economy around, and today more than ever Venezuela is more dependent on its oil exports. It has huge debts with China that has taken future oil as collateral. The Bolivar was recently devalued, 6 times during his term in office, and very likely will be within the year, especially if political instability combines with economic problems.

Corruption and violence still plague Venezuela and no end is in sight.

Many throughout LA will regard him as a saint because he voiced their demands for a greater slice of the pie in favor of the poor.

Will His movement continue? Not likely.

This is an unfortunate death, he was still so young.

The only thing I hold against him is being so close to Fidel Castro and Raul.

But I guess he had his reasons for trusting them.

I feel that he was a nationalist, that had the best intentions for Venezuelans,

and all Latin Americas at heart.

He fought against the odds, and was succeeding, but no one can fight with death and win.

When there is such inequality in a country such as Chavez faced when he stood for President ,which Castro faced when was fighting for equality, and what is in Haiti and back in history what the french revolutionary leaders faced when they overthrough the KIng , then there will always be a period of instability as the new left wing leaders try to introduce a more equal share of wealth to the people . And we have seen that , in so doing this, the economy invariably suffers ..
There always has to be compassion and fairness in capitalism , and if there is , then there is no need for such revolutions .
I praise Chavez for his ideals but really he has left a mess in carrying them out .

my son spent a year in Venezuela in a wealthy area called Barquisimeto. he was staying with a very wealthy family, in some mansion the father owned. the Christmas he was there, the father went shopping for gifts for his 2 sons and a daughter. he could not think of anything creative, so, instead of putting too much strain on his brain, he just bought each of them a BMW 325i. Then, on the way home, he stopped at the Mercedes dealer, and bought himself an S500, meanwhile, people in the barrios were probably looking through the garbage for something to eat.

What has Chávez bequeathed his fellow Venezuelans?

"The hard facts are unmistakable: The oil-rich South American country is in shambles. It has one of the world’s highest rates of inflation, largest fiscal deficits, and fastest growing debts. Despite a boom in oil prices, the country’s infrastructure is in disrepair—power outages and rolling blackouts are common—and it is more dependent on crude exports than when Chávez arrived.

Venezuela is the only member of OPEC that suffers from shortages of staples such as flour, milk, and sugar. Crime and violence skyrocketed during Chávez’s years. On an average weekend, more people are killed in Caracas than in Baghdad and Kabul combined. (In 2009, there were 19,133 murders in Venezuela, more than four times the number of a decade earlier.) When the grisly statistics failed to improve, the Venezuelan government simply stopped publishing the figures. "

Apparently his people couldn't get it right and waited too long for the decomposition process to eat away at his corpse. The Chinese and Russian experts brought in top do the work had to awaken the Chavez people to the fact that if an embalming was needed, vigilant steps and proper handling of the corpse had to take place immediately after Chavez was declared dead by his medical staff.

Count this as a big positive. The grotesques circus will not advance. A nice burial place is all his body requires.

I think he was murder by the united states , he seem to died a little to fast and he was very heavy set I notice , usually when someone has such an anvance stage of cancer thye start to get more skinny , he was actually fat , which leads me to believe he must of had something else also.
