Montevideo.– The Uruguayan police released five Dominican women who were being held in a nightclub, and agents now investigate whether they were forced into prostitution, local police said Saturday.

The case took place in Melo, the capital city of the Cerro Largo Department, on the border with Brazil. According to police reports, the women, whose identity is being withheld, arrived independently at the nightclub for the purpose of prostitution but were held against their will by the manager.

The local police found guns and cocaine and arrested five men who were inside, the report said.

I cannot imagine a Dominicana being forced into prostitution when the DR is one of the most promiscous countries in the world ,,,hard to find families where the children are from the same parents . I imagine they were furious that there work has now been terminated .How can we throw stones at the Hitians when there are more Dominicans in the NY prisons than any other foreign country, when the worst gang in Costa Rica is Dominican , when Peru has stopped entry without visa to Peru and when now we know there are thousands of illegal Dominicans in Canada. About time people realised that there is not a hell of a lot of difference between the two populations .

prostitution is the greatest DR sin.. then bribe is a second one.it is culturally ok for them to corrompt
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No country in the world is free of sin Gretchen even the Great Austrian empire had its many flaws.
And Dominicans did not quite invent the profession, believe me when I tell you, prostitution was someone else's idea and corruption, we did not think of it either. Historically we can trace back the practice of corruption all throughout history and all over the world. Even Shapeare spoke about the betrayal, unethical, incestuous and corrupt practices in the play, "Hamlet" with the famous quote, "something is rotten in the state of Denmark."

So please Gretchen, stop giving the DR so much credit for being the originators of the two most common traits in human nature. Now go back and hit some of those history books.

Forced???????????...............yeah riiiiiiiiiiiiiight!.

I BET they will say they were forced.....will also tell their friends, relatives and neighbors they were forced.........after all, they told their loved ones and friends they were working "taking care of the elderly".......nothing new.

Desde que se "invento'" la excusa, nadie es perfecto.
